Are you the proud pet owner of a breed of cat known as a Toyger? If so, you’re a selfish individual that supports a cruel industry that perpetuates abuse, at least, that’s according to the CEO and Founder of Big Cat Rescue, Carole Baskin.
According to The International Cat Association, “The Toyger is being bred to resemble the tigers of the wild but in a package that fits easily into the modern urban lifestyle with the same nature as the domestic cat. The medium-sized cat has the rolling gait and vivid striped patterns of the wild cats without a single drop of real tiger blood.”
Apparently, Carole Baskin was contacted by a couple that planned on moving to Hawaii with their Toyger but was concerned about the state’s laws that may pertain to their feline companion.
Carole publicly posted her condescending message to the couple on today's issue of Big Cat Rescue’s daily updates (emphasis added):
Carole then had this to say about the letter she sent (emphasis added), “I’m sure I came across as rude, but I’m just sick of people being selfish and supporting the cruel industries that cause so much abuse and then wanting me to help them get away with evading laws that were enacted to protect animals.”
Is Carole Baskin even qualified to give out advice regarding hybrid cats considering the fact that she released all of her hybrid cats to “patrol” her facility back when she was operating as Wildlife On Easy Street?
Big Cat Rescue added a small update to the situation saying that the owners eventually decided to cancel their move to Hawaii.
