We apologize for this article being long overdue, but with the season 8 premier of The Walking Dead airing last Sunday, we find it to be as relevant as ever. Before reading any further, if you just started watching the show or are still in the process of catching up, you may want to skip this article for now as there might be spoilers ahead.
It turns out that Khary Payton, an actor from the popular televised series, The Walking Dead, has made a celebrity guest appearance at Big Cat Rescue.
Khary plays the role of King Ezekiel, a unique character that is the leader of a settlement called The Kingdom. What makes him vastly different from other characters in the show is the fact that he is accompanied by a tiger named Shiva, Ezekiel's fearsome animal companion which totally ruins the immersion of the show with its obvious CGI among many other things in our opinion (skip to 2:36 in the video).
He was apparently contacted by Big Cat Rescue to come visit their facility which he agreed. His visit took place on July 29th.
“We shared the stories of our cats, talked about cub petting and the worst abuses, and had a genuine discussion on what impact, if any, his character had on private ownership,” said Jennifer Leon, Big Cat Rescue's Director of Outreach.
Big Cat Rescue continues describing their experience with the actor, saying:
Khary’s visit to Big Cat Rescue certainly seems to have left a mark, but will we see that reflect in future episodes of The Walking Dead?
