Cybil
(Deceased Serval)
Cybil was born at Big Cat Rescue of breeders Lucky, bought from Luis Bellman for $1200 and Nairobi, purchased from a pet shop for $1000. Cybil was taken from Lucky at birth to be bottle fed as a pet. At just 8 weeks old Cybil's rear leg was unexplainably crushed and deemed unsalvageable. What would cause an 8 week old infant to have it's leg crushed? This infant was clearly neglected or left to untrained staff to care for.
Cybil lived for 19 years with her damaged leg before finally succumbing to kidney disease. In Carole's "memorial tribute" to Cybil Carole tells the same old lies about most of her servals coming from pet owners and auctions where taxidermists would "club them to death in the parking lot" to mount them as trophies. What she doesn't tell you is that Carole herself was buying breeding, bottle feeding, and selling these cubs as pets. She both bought and sold cats to auctions, as seen in her USDA acquisition forms.
Cybil's father Nairobi, according to Carole, was rescued from a pet shop where he was being taunted by children. Bay News 9 called the pet shop owner who said not a word of it was true and that she sold Carole Nairobi for $1000. When Carole later sold Nairobi she simply bought a female serval, assigned her the same false rescue story, and continues to exhibit her to this day as the rescued-from-a-pet-shop Nairobi. How many people gave multi-millionaire Carole Baskin money for Nairobi's care, believing the cat was rescued? This is fraud!
