Doc Antle vs. Carole Baskin, Big Cat Rescue

Doc Antle is the founder and director of The Rare Species Fund and the Myrtle Beach Safari. Like countless others, Doc is one of Carole Baskin's targets in her crusade against utilizing big cats for monetary purposes. What battles have the two powerhouses of the big cat world been in?
911 Animal Abuse is a website created and owned by Carole Baskin, CEO and founder of Big Cat Rescue. Anyone that doesn't fit into Carole's narrow minded world view regarding the ownership of exotic cats or musters enough courage to speak out against her will most likely end up on that website. The creator of BCR Watch has even ended up on that website (see 911 Animal Abuse Lies).

Doc Antle was added to that website due to the fact that he owns a facility located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where he provides tourists the opportunity to interact with his many animal ambassadors ranging anywhere from a large female African elephant to tiger cubs.

We found out that Doc had won a dispute against Carole Baskin back in 2014. Their altercation centered around the domain name, DocAntle.com.

It turns out, Carole Baskin had secretly bought the domain name in an attempt to redirect searches for Doc's name to her erroneous animal abuse website.

Doc eventually found out what Carole was doing so he had his attorneys file a complaint with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The WIPO Panel determined that the domain name was registered and used in bad faith and should be immediately transferred to Doc.

Not wanting to give up without a fight, Carole filed a lawsuit. (view LAWSUIT)

We recently had a chance to speak with Doc Antle and he told us the he could've easily won the lawsuit. He ultimately decided to let Carole have it for now because fighting and winning a federal lawsuit would have costed tens of thousands of dollars which he felt could be better spent on conservation. Carole was apparently willing to spend large sums of money just to hold onto the domain name even though that money would be better spent on improving her facility and the lives of the animals in her care.
